Meet Our Team

Bill A.

CEO / FOUNDER

Bill started out as a fire alarm tech in1988.
In 1996 Bill started his company. He had a vision of what a company should be. It was slow at first, but because Bill cared about his customers, it wasn’t long before the word got out. Today, that vision is to treat the customer as a friend, give the best service possible and keep your schedule.

Bill has built a one company does it all and it takes only one call for service.

Lena A.

VICE PRESIDENT

Lena started as Vice President in 2002 and quickly took over the estimating of fire systems and all low voltage systems of our largest projects and existing customers. Lena still has the ability to lend her knowledge and attention to all of our other divisions on a daily basis.

At the beginning of this year, Lena became the majority stock owner of 1st Fire & Security and made it a Woman Owned Business.

Khameel S.

SERVICE/INSTALLATION MANAGER

Khameel is head of operations for all service and installation projects. He has been with the company for over 2 years.

Khameel came to us from EST, where he headed the service/tech support, division.

Khameel has an excellent knowledge of all of Edwards Fire Alarm Systems which he shares daily with his techs & our customers.

Chris C.

Fire & Security Coordinator

Chris is amazing! She can help with any situation in our company and stay with it until is resolved. She has known our customers for a long time and when you listen to her talk to them on the phone, it sounds like she is talking to an old friend. We have been lucky enough to have had Chris since December of 2005 and it is people like Chris that has made our company strong.

Kerri J

Life Safety Inspections Coordinator

Kerri came to us having worked in a different environment, but willing and eager to learn her new position as life safety inspections & Sprinkler Service coordinator.
After a short training period, Kerri, assumed the position full time and of course, the rest is history.
Her service area includes the South Florida area from Melbourne through Palm Beach. Kerri would like to hear from you if you have any needed inspections or questions you might have about inspections. Please do not hesitate to give her a call, she is always there to help.

Eric S

GATE SYSTEMS, ACCESS CONTROL, CAMERAS, COORDINATOR

Eric has been in the business of servicing gates, access control and cameras for many years. He has always stayed on the cutting edge of systems technology, keeping up with the growing needs of his customers. Eric is always available to answer any questions you might have about your gate system, access control, or cameras. Even if you are not an existing customer, but have an issue, Eric will try to get a tech out to help you.

John Z.

WAREHOUSE MANAGER

John is responsible for making sure that we have equipment and whatever is needed for our installations. He is also in charge of equipment rentals, van maintenance, van inventory and shop inventory.

Lee B.

New Construction Coordinator/Permitting Specialist

Lee has great organizational skills which is a big asset when you are responsible for organizing and submitting permits for our projects. She does this on a daily routine with a smile.

Experienced Fire Alarm Service Technicians

    1st Fire & Security has openings for multiple experienced Fire Alarm Service Technicians and Sprinkler Service Technicians in the South Florida area. Must have 3 to 5 yrs servicing fire alarms ( Factory training a big plus ) verifiable for that position. NICET Certification is preferred but not necessary. Experience with testing and inspecting a plus, also repair work experience.

Sprinkler Fitters & Apprentices - South Florida Area

    1st Fire & Security has openings for sprinkler fitters and apprentices in the South Florida area, Fitters should be capable to read prints and be able to perform the basics of their job without any additional training. Apprentices must be reliable and have a willingness and ability to learn the trade in a reasonable time frame. Fire Sprinkler Service Division - Lead

    We are seeking a Fire Sprinkler Professional who is tenacious, highly motivated, ambitious, detail oriented, can work independently, able to multi-task, organized and a self-starter with a minimum of five plus continuous years working at this level in the industry.

    Duties Include, but are not limited to:
    • Assume total responsibility for all service, emergency service, small contracts, and inspection repair work.
    • Coordinate and Communicate Field Operations among field personnel, office management, clients, sub-contractors, and vendors.
    • Manage Client Repair Database
    • Daily dispatching of sprinkler service technicians for scheduled work and emergency service calls.
    • Review inspection reports for needed repairs and discuss deficiencies from these reports with the client.
    • Review and process daily work orders for accuracy and pricing.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 5 years field and management experience preferred.
    • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, MS Word & Excel.
    • Detail orientated, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, effectively both verbally and in writing
    • Excellent understanding of NFPA 13 & NFPA 25 and local AHJ requirements.
    • NICET certification is preferred and a big plus.
